Tuna Fish Cakes

Tuna Fish Cakes

So the other day I was in the mood for some fish, if there’s one dish I battle to make, it has got to be fish. It’s so frustrating as I absolutely love fish but no matter what I try, I can never get it perfectly prepared like my moms.
I came across this recipe by The Gracious Pantry, Clean Eating Tuna Patties.

Really? Fish cakes with cans of tuna? Why did I not think of that?!
If you’re looking for something quick, light and super healthy for dinner, look no further.
Dinner will be served in under 20min.
Best of all, it’s all 100% grain and gluten free, so dig in!

Hubby was so impressed and could not believe such a tasty dish came from cans of tuna, so was I to be honest, definitely going to be making more of these some time soon! Best of all, we had more than enough for lunch the following day and it tasted even better after setting overnight.

I thought I would blog the recipe before I forget it as I did alter it slightly. So here goes…

Tuna Fish Cakes

Ingredients:

  • 4 cans tuna – well drained
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 small red onion – finely chopped
  • 1 spring onion – chopped
  • 2 Tbsp fresh dill – or 2 tsp dried
  • 2 Tbsp fresh parsley – or 2 tsp dried
  • himalayan salt
  • ground black pepper
  • lemon juice
  • garlic flakes or powder

Instructions:

  • Combine all ingredients.
  • Separate into desired size patties, you might need to squeeze out any excess juices.
  • Fry with coconut oil on high heat until golden.

How easy was that! Serve with a green salad or side of veggies.
I made herbed mashed potato for hubby and I had mine with broccoli and a green salad.

Was soooo delish!
Thanks Gracious Pantry, I will definitely be trying out more of your recipes in the future!

  1. These sound delicious ! I do love fish cakes. I have always used tinned tuna for this too ! Must admit I don’t make them as frequently as I should though . ❤️🐠 thank you for sharing x
